El MC8 es, en este momento, el buque insignia de la británica Roth Audio, a la vez que un producto de nivel audiófilo en el sentido más amplio del término. De aspecto imponente como consecuencia de los dos soberbios triodos 211 que incorpora, el MC8 es en realidad una electrónica a válvulas de la vieja escuela que ha sido adaptada de un modo muy creativo a los nuevos tiempos. Así, no solamente acepta un amplio abanico de fuentes (además del puerto para conexión/carga de iPod ubicado en la zona central del panel superior, se dispone de tomas para un total de cuatro fuentes de línea), sino que su circuitería de amplificación de potencia configurada en Clase A pura le permite exhibir unos niveles de calidez, frescura e incluso dinámica perfectamente comparables a los de las mejores electrónicas del High End tradicional. A ello hay que añadir un práctico mando a distancia y refinamientos tales como la posibilidad de escoger la impedancia de salida (entre 4 y 8 ohmios). En definitiva, un producto de auténtico lujo.
